Following the success of the last workshop were pleased to host Grimmly again. The workshop will cover the Krishnamacharya approach to Yoga taking a look at the ‘original Primary series’ that Pattabhi Jois was taught and went on to develop into the Ashtanga vinyasa practice that is now taught all over the world. Anyone who practices Ashtanga yoga will appreciate discovering the roots of this great Yoga practice. The workshop will be held at Stonemonkey so spaces will be limited. Autumnal cleansing vinyasa yoga workshop with Liz Lark
Sunday 5 October 2014, 12.30-5.00pm
In the first session we will do a dynamic, cleansing sequence inspired by Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, working towards challenging peak poses (with modifications to make them accessible to all).
In the second session we will do a softer practice including breath work, visualisation, yoga nidra (guided deep relaxation) and song bath.
Liz has been teaching yoga since 1995, based in London, and leading retreats in places of wild beauty to inspire the yoga practice. This is her third workshop at Stonemonkey and we are delighted to welcome her back.
Liz is a board member for Yogacampus teacher training course, specialising in sequencing and adjustments. She has written several books and created a DVD, ‘Yogalibre’ (Freestyle yoga). Her arts background informs her teaching. See www.lizlark.com.

This course is an introduction to the Ashtanga vinyasa system as taught by the late Sri K Pattabhi Jois and the AYRI Mysore, India. The course builds slowly introducing the core techniques of Breath and movement, providing you with a solid foundation on which to build your Yoga practice and encouraging you to develop your own self practice.On completion of the course you will be ready to move on to the beginners class with confidence.
